Google UX Design Professional Certificate

Who it is for: Career switchers and juniors who need structured foundation UX before AI-product craft

Our verdict: Foundation UX, not AI-native, free via financial aid or limited preview; certificate and full graded path are paid by default.

Why it made the cut

Google’s UX Design Professional Certificate on Coursera is the standard foundation track: empathize, define, ideate, wireframe, prototype in Figma, test, and build a portfolio. It is classic UX education with recent AI add-ons in later courses, not an AI-product design curriculum.

Treat “Enroll for free” honestly: full graded access and the shareable certificate sit behind Coursera subscription (or approved financial aid). Preview/audit access is limited compared with older full-audit days. Use financial aid if you need the credential at $0; otherwise budget a few months of Coursera.

Caveat: pair this with Elements of AI or a workflow AI course when you need generative-UI judgment, this certificate alone will not make you AI-native.
